While I was in Aruba (lie) I discovered a new favorite blog (truth). The Intangible Blog combines so many wonderful things; envy worthy hand drawn illustrations, a solid dose of humor, the beauty of life's mundane details, and the openness of an honest writer. As always, images open up into their original sources because (unlike some people) I try to make things easy - BLEH - This post has crashed on me twice, and if I hadn't declared that I was Bach, I would have given up and just gone to sleep. I am happy that I stuck with it, but unhappy with stupid typepad. *It should be noted that 99.9% of the time typepad is THE BEST so I shouldn't really complain and don't want to misrepresent how I feel about them.

The Ladies - Diana Fayt
Although Diana Fayt mostly creates beautiful ceramics, she also had a show back in 2007 which exhibited her perfect illustrations. A series of kerchiefed old world ladies drawn, painted and collaged onto used cardboard envelopes that she has collected from friends from all over the world - I SO wish I had seen this show!

Animals Near Village
It's simple, and just a sketch from Skineart by Ziza - but it's so balanced in the loveliest way. Really loose lines, but with a very direct vision. I also can appreciate how intertwined the illustration is - I didn't notice that the elephant's nose was also the horses back, till I looked twice - and I love that!

Skinart.com is an amazing resource for sharing sketchbook art and discovering new artists/blogs. I LOVE what this site offers and can always find so much inspiration (it's super easy to get lost). Lately I have been really drawn to exteriors, and I think in part it's because there is something romantic about imaging a person going to a place with a sketchbook and drawing what's around them. Like the ultimate observer, I like to believe that a person draws only what they had time to finish, and that what we see - also communicates how long they were dedicated to capturing a moment. Below are some of my favorates, and as always the images open up to the actual site for easy access - have fun!
