Earlier this week we had an extra special visit with dear family friends and their new two month old baby. Other than (obviously) wanting to spend time with them (because we love them like family) it was extremely important for me to have HML spend some time with an actual (living, breathing, and pooping) newborn. There has been so much talk about baby brother, but not nearly enough real life experience with someone that small, it felt like a test run (of sorts). Even though we have prepared her that little ones don't do much in the beginning, I was so impressed with her gentleness, curiosity, and general excitement. We quietly sang songs, built up the courage to hold little hands, gently caressed cheeks, had huge smiles, felt soft baby hair, and asked lots and lots of questions.
It was pretty much the cutest thing ever and so far, nothing has made me more excited :).
