Heading back East to visit KL's family and friends was something we were both really looking forward to. Even though we knew it was going to be special, I don't think we realized how much we actually needed it (like in our soul). In the spirit of Thanksgiving (cue violins) I am most thankful for the family and friends KL and I both have. They are extraordinary people, who are generous, loving, hilarious, and kind. For the ones we don't nearly see often enough, when we do it's like taking medicine (when you didn't even know you needed it). You feel clearer in the mind, extra warm in your heart, and ever so thankful.
Our niece and nephew (two favorites we adore - as seen below) made this weeks photo extra special, but also a little more challenging. Other than the fact that it was freezing, and they had wet hair (bad planning, yes we know) we were all full of giggles. They had excellent attitudes, were so excited to be in this week's picture, and just in general can't wait to meet their first cousin. Being with them is always the best, but feeling their tenderness towards a simple growing belly, enhanced the magic.
