I love to read (see right column) and have lots of books, so naturally I have bookends, well actually I only own one pair - do people have more than one pair of bookends?. I bought them years ago, possibly before I moved to LA, could I have had them in college? Geez, not knowing their age proves they've been around for a while, so you would think that I am attached to them (they are like an heirloom seed) - but you want to know a secret, I don't care about them at all. I think I only use them because they are practical and because, well a bookend is a bookend, they just sit there doing nothing but keeping your books in place - right? WRONG! Let me introduce to you the bookends that I am now swooning over, yes SWOONING. The concept is brilliant and multifunctional because these goldfish bookends can be filled with lots of objects other than fish. Think pennies, flowers, sand or anything else that provides weight to the base - but how cute are the goldfish and their little half jar home - let's get back to them! I suppose that you will have to feed the fish, clean the jar, change the water, and probably keep having to buy new goldfish every other month (since let's be honest, they quit early)...Huh, suddenly things got high maintenance - and I sound anti, but I assure you I am not, am I? Oh no, did this post just talk me out of my new found swoon? I still love you goldfish bookends!
