I love our neighbors, and when you live in a little apartment building like we do, it is super important to mental health (and usually left up to chance) so we feel extra grateful for our stroke of luck. The couple who live above us, my husband and I have gotten to know, and we LOVE LOVE LOVE them - particularly for the many ways they stand out. They are quirky, smart, and always up to something (in the good kind of way). It first started when we would find beautiful wildflowers out front of our door (lovely, but where were they coming from), or fake mice on our common hallway (not so lovely - but funny - yet still, who and why), it wasn't till things would hang from their balcony onto ours - and we we were face to face with a HUGE plastic spider (good one guys) that we learned they were the creative culprits. Our favorite though, hands down is their rotating installation in the dead dirt area next to the door to the garage. It's theme is usually based on current events (last December a T-Rex was stealing baby Jesus away from the Manger - HA :) and this week it's it honor of the brave astronauts in space. There is really no rhyme or reason, it has always been done by good hearts and creative minds - and nothing makes me smile more than life's little surprises and unit #202 :)
