In an effort to revitalize sterile public spaces, communities are adopting fee-based public art initiatives for urban makeovers. Artists like, Joshua Callaghan, an MFA student at UCLA, transformed the metal units in downtown Culver City (that house electric equipment) into a much more surprising treats. The result is really effective, camouflaging the ugly utility boxes into the surrounding landscape. I still do double a double take when I walk past, come see for yourself!
